SHORT-TERM RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT

Individual men in the Short Term Residential program go through an intense 30-to-45 day treatment. Each day as many as eight men work together in group settings. For many, it is a time to address abuse or neglect they experienced as a child. Others must learn to manage anger or loss of family.

In this program, these men slowly begin to reconnect with supporters in the community. Often, this is their opportunity to prove to their families, the court system, and themselves that they can be productive and sober members of society.

KEEP DOING WHAT YOU’RE DOING

It is rare to see a client at Cornhusker Place in a dress shirt and tie. But "Ken"* beams with pride in his new attire. Ken has been working hard in Short Term Treatment, and goes to court today for a crime he committed related to his addiction.

The last time Ken saw the judge, he had just begun treatment. The judge told him, "Just keep doing what you're doing."

Today, Ken will speak with the judge again to prove how his life is changing at Cornhusker Place. He's staying sober. He's addressing his issues. He's on the right path and he's going to prove it.
